How/why did you get into baking?
One of my earliest memories is baking with my grandmother. I know everyone says that! She taught me how to make little pinwheels sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar with the leftover bits of dough when she made pies, and I have been baking ever since. She had an incredible impact on my life, so I named my business Nora Claire in her memory!
What’s your favorite thing to bake?
The things I like to bake the most are whatever my family asks for!
What’s your favorite ingredient? Why?
Defiantly vanilla, it is so underrated! Every dessert is better with vanilla.
Sweet or Savory? Why?
Sweet, of course! If you think of life’s major events or milestones, like weddings and birthdays, there is usually cake or some type of sweet involved. It’s so nice to be a part of someone’s celebration when I make their dessert!
What neighborhood do you live in?
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. I graduated from Carrick High School and now I live in the South Hills with my family.
What hobbies do you have?
Besides the obvious-cooking and baking, I am a huge Martha Stewart wannabe so it is easy for me to say my biggest hobby is any type of crafting, especially paper crafts.
What’s your favorite Pittsburgh eatery?
Well, if you haven’t been to Morcilla in Lawerenceville yet, you should go now! I also love Ki Ramen, located in Lawerencville. The house spice blends that are on all the tables are amazing
